Academic Camps

Standard CyberPatriot Cybercamp

June 10, 2024 - June 14, 2024
Boys and Girls Grades 9 - 12

In conjunction with CyberPatriot, Gannon University will be hosting a five-day Cybersecurity summer camp for high school and middle school students. The CyberPatriot Standard Summer 2024 camp will be hosted in the new highly equipped Institute for Health and Cyber Knowledge (I-HACK) at Gannon University. Students will be taught essential cyber safety and cybersecurity principles that are highly relevant for protecting devices and information from the ever-growing rampant cyber threats. Instructions and hands-on lab sessions will be provided by Gannon's Cybersecurity faculty and industry cybersecurity experts. During the camp sessions, each student will have their dedicated high-performance computer equipped with extensive labs. Students will also have an opportunity to interact with fellow peers directly and Cybersecurity Professors, ask questions and receive guidance about cybersecurity careers.

4 Seasons of STEM

Boys and Girls Ages 12+

Join the Scientists from the Regional Science Consortium and Gannon University to participate in Summer Season of STEM! Students (Boys and Girls ages 12+) will have the opportunity to experience local, place-based scientific learning opportunities alongside the changing seasons of Erie. This Summer Session will include a two-day, one-night camp on the campus of Gannon University. Participation in the Winter and Spring Sessions will permit students to register for this camp. Students will complete scientific sampling methods aboard Gannon’s Environaut research vessel, collect fish by seining, trapping, and electrofishing, learn how to identify different species of plants and animals, and assist with national priority wetland restoration on Presque Isle State Park. This program is free for students who are member schools of the Regional Science Consortium and is supported by Erie Insurance.

Cyberpatriot Advanced Summer Camp

Understanding Manufacturing and Technology Camp

July 22, 2024 - July 25, 2024
Boys and Girls Grades 9 - 12

Welcome to Understanding Manufacturing Technologies (UMT) Summer Camp. This camp is designed to introduce students to the exciting world of manufacturing technologies, including 3D printing, laser cutting, and machining. Through hands-on activities and workshops, students will gain a foundational understanding of each technology and learn how they can be used to create innovative solutions to real-world problems. Throughout the camp, students will work in teams to design, prototype, and test their own projects using the tools and techniques they have learned. By the end of the camp, students will have a solid understanding of manufacturing technologies and the skills to continue exploring and creating with these powerful tools. Students at UMT Summer Camp will also have the opportunity to build and take home their own 3D printer. Through a series of workshops, students will learn how to assemble and calibrate a 3D printer from scratch, gaining a deeper understanding of how the technology works. Once their printers are complete, students will have the chance to experiment with printing their own designs and troubleshooting any issues that arise. This hands-on experience will give students a unique perspective on 3D printing technology and equip them with valuable skills for future projects.

Global Leadership Summer Camp

July 29, 2024 - August 2, 2024
Boys and Girls Ages 11 - 14

Explore global issues, build skills for life and leadership, get trained in Model UN diplomatic training, debate, public speaking, and research skills. Experience a fun, experiential opportunity this summer to learn about the history of international relations, world regions, current political crises, sustainability, health and more through role-playing, simulation, and structured debates. Challenge yourself to give speeches, write resolutions, negotiate solutions to global problems and interact with a range of professional speakers. At the end of the week, you will receive a certificate of training as a Model UN Diplomat.

Young Writers Camp

August 5, 2024 - August 9, 2024
Boys and Girls Ages 9 - 18

Designed as a writing workshop, this week-long intensive writing camp will introduce young writers to the techniques of composing fiction, poetry, journalistic content, social media content, and other fun stuff. Gannon Faculty and writing professionals will help students explore the valuable skills of reading, listening, and speaking. High school juniors and seniors will leave with a draft of college or scholarship application essays. This is an opportunity for students to enrich themselves academically while having fun with writing.

Women's Basketball Fundamental Camp

June 10, 2024 - June 13, 2024
Girls grades 3 - 6

This camp will teach the basic fundamentals of basketball, including shooting, passing, rebounding, dribbling and defense to each camper. Stations and competitions will be used to reinforce and evaluate the skills taught. Each camper will receive a fundamental skills evaluation.

Women's Basketball Elite Camp

Girls ages 13 - 18

Throughout the day, we will complete skill development drills that we do often with our current student-athletes. Players will leave with a great understanding of what it is like to be a student-athlete at Gannon University. Females ages 13-18 ONLY. Limited spots available.

Men's Soccer Prospect Camp

June 15, 2024
Boys grades 8 - 12

Approximately 50% of our current roster attended at least one ID camp, and 75% of this year’s recruiting class attended a camp. This is a chance to play in front of Gannon University staff, as well as other coaching staffs. We invite other schools from within a 2-3 hour drive, so you get seen by more than just the Gannon coaches. This is a full day of soccer with technical, possession, small sided games, and full field games. There will also be a question and answer session to ask anything related to recruiting!

Women's Softball Showcase

2024 Gannon College Showcase sponsored by Gannon University Softball. Colleges from around the region will gather and assess your skills for the next level. The participating colleges will be released as the event approaches. Participants should be rising into 8th-12th Grade.

A fun introduction to the game of basketball, campers will learn the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, and shooting. Lots of smiles and learning.

Women's Basketball Shooting Camp

June 24, 2024 - June 26, 2024
Girls grades 6 - 12

Individual attention and focus on basic concepts of shooting highlight this camp and make it one of the best around. Technique will be drilled through repetition of specific drills, stations and competitions. Age and skill level groups will be established to provide the proper attention to each individual. Each camper will receive an individual shooting evaluation, t-shirt and basketball. Hundreds of girls have attended this camp over the years.

Women's Basketball Post Camp

Girls grades 6 - 12

This camp will focus on post play. Coach Wright and staff will teach low post and high post offense, as well as defense in both areas. Our team is known for post/inside play and this camp will expose players to the techniques and mentality of playing the post position. Each camper will receive a t-shirt and an evaluation with improvement plan.

Acrobatics and Tumbling Skills Camps

July 13, 2024
Girls ages 10 - 18

Campers will get the opportunity to work with current collegiate student-athletes on the Gannon University Acrobatics and Tumbling Team to learn the skills of Acrobatics, Pyramids, and Non-spring floor tumbling techniques. This unique camp experience allows for more one-on-one attention with camper and current athletes who already participate in the sport of Acrobatics and Tumbling, therefore is more safe and more productive than alternative camp options.

All Skills Volleyball

July 17, 2024 - July, 20 2024
Girls grades 7 - 12

This camp is ONLY for commuters; on-campus housing will not be available. 8 Training Sessions: 1 session on Wednesday evening; 3 sessions on Thursday and Friday; 1 session on Saturday morning. There will be 20 hours of volleyball training! Campers should bring their own meals; but dinner will be available for purchase. Emphasis on basic skills—passing, setting, serving, attacking, blocking, and defense. Campers will have the opportunity to play live 6 vs. 6 every day. In order to maximize the effectiveness of your training, campers will be grouped according to skill level (not necessarily age). Special sessions on flexibility and strength training for volleyball players. * This camp is best for girls who will be in 7th–12th grade in the fall of 2024.

Beginners Volleyball Camp

Camp starts at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm on Thursday and Friday Have fun while learning at Gannon’s Volleyball Beginners Camp. Gain basic volleyball skills through fun and exciting games.
